[Note: This tarot deck was designed by Aleister Crowley and painted by Lady Frieda Harris. They originally thought it would take three months to create it, but it ended up taking five years! Neither of them managed to publish this deck in their lifetimes. In fact it wasn't published until 1969. Like the A. E. Waite deck, it is one of the more interesting systems/decks out there, with great art as well.]

[Note: 'This Time The World' is Rockwell's first book, an early autobiography (published in the early 1960's), detailing his extremely colorful and eventful life. 'White Power' was written later, but just as controversial and extremely informative. What surprised me most was how poetic and passionate Rockwell's writings are. They are nothing like history paints them, like so much popular belief!]

[Below: Commander Rockwell and ten of his troopers attended a Black Muslim rally on February 25, 1962. Rockwell and the American Muslim leader Elijah Muhammad shared similiar views in respect to racial segregation and sought ways to work together. Rockwell reverently called Elijah Muhammad the 'Hitler of the black man'. At the 1962 'Savior's Day' celebration in Chicago Rockwell addressed the Nation of Islam members. 8,000 black muslims attended the meeting.

Rockwell told the audience they had been getting a 'raw deal' in America and that it was the fault of the Jews for 'exploiting your people and my people.' He asked the audience if Negro organizations needed Jewish leadership to which the audience shouted 'NO!'

Rockwell continued:

'You know that we call you niggers. But wouldn’t you rather be confronted by honest white men who tell you to your face what the others all say behind your back? Can you really gain anything dealing with a bunch of cowardly white sneaks? The yellow-liberals who tell you they love you, privately exclude you every way they know how. I am not afraid to stand here and tell you I hate race-mixing and will fight it to the death. But at the same time, I will do everything in my power to help the Honorable Elijah Muhammad carry out his inspired plan for land of your own in Africa. Elijah Muhammad is right--separation!'

Some of the audience booed and heckled him as he spoke, but Elijah Muhammad and his top aides applauded enthusiastically.

Elijah Muhammad later spoke about Rockwell and the event in the April 1962 issue of Muhammad Speaks:

'Mr. Rockwell has spoken well. He has lived up to his name. He is not asking you and me to follow him. He endorsed the stand for self that you and I are taking. Why should you not applaud? No other white people wants you to do such a thing. His own people will hurt him or try to hurt him, you heard what he said, just because they have taken a stand to see that you be separated to get justice and freedom... What right have you to sit there and hold your hand when you know he is telling the truth. No, the trouble of it is you are scared to death! You don't want the white slave master to say 'I heard that you were there listening and enjoying the German Nazis or the White Circle leader.' What do we care if they are white? If they are speaking the truth for us, what do we care? We’ll stand on our heads and applaud!']

Rockwell told reporters he considered the Muslims 'black Nazis' and said 'I am fully in concert with their program and I have the highest respect for Mr. Elijah Muhammad.'
