[Neat Records]
The last of a series of singles released by Neat in the '80s, this is perhaps one of the best, having the songs 'Nightmare,' 'Satanachist' and 'F.O.A.D..' This particular example shows the band on the cover, there is another (more attractive) cover version depicting a drawing, which was banned as too 'extreme', and replaced with this one.
[Filmtrax Records]
Printed in Western Germany, and pressed in England in 1987, this was a period of decline for Venom. Mantus was no longer with them, replaced by guitarists 'Mike H.' and 'Jim C..' This dissapointing release also marks the first release on Filmtrax after a split with longtime label Neat Records. It contains the songs, 'Black Xmas,' 'The Chanting of the Priests,' 'Metal Punk,' 'Under a Spell,' 'Calm Before the Storm,' 'Fire,' 'Krackin Up,' 'Beauty and the Beast,' 'Deadline* (*Titled after the release that never was, before the split, a share of the material on Calm before the Storm was taken from that era),' 'Gypsy' and 'Muscle.'
[Neat Records]
This is the cassette version of the single released by Neat in 1985. It differs from the LP in that it contains three additional tracks, 'Intro 'Warhead' on the Radio,' 'Warhead (live at the Hammersmith Odeon)' and 'True Venom Legions Anserphone Message!'
[self produced]
This tape is not an 'official' release, but instead was sent to just a few people (under 20), ourselves being one of those lucky few. It is best described in the history Peter sent with it, which is quoted in part here: 'After the removal of Tharen, several weeks after the 'Moonrise' demo had been released in March 1994, we had to find a new vocalist for Abigor, and finally we chose Silenius that we already knew of through our close contacts with Summoning at that time. We recorded a few songs of the planned debut album, entitled 'Verwustung/Invoke the Dark Age,' in early May 1994 to prove Silenius' voice, and to inform Napalm Records about the line-up change, and to show them the 'new' Abigor. The tape was called 'In Hate and Sin' and it featured the songs: 'My Soft Vision in Blood,' 'Diabolic Unity,' 'Universe of Black Divine,' 'In Sin (partly)' and 'Eye to Eye at Armageddon.' ...the demo will never be released, nor will I ever dub more than 20 copies of the tape.'
[self-released]
Known and respected by a growing few in the underground, Spear of Longinus is from Australia and plays great raw-sounding black metal. This demo, now quite rare and nearly impossible to obtain, contains the following songs: 'Rite of Ragnarok,' 'The Ibis of my Lost Soul (From whence I came),' 'Riders of a Cold and Violent Wind,' 'Jarls Quest Eternal' and 'Nazi Occult Metal.' Side B of this cassette contains the same songs but with some additional vocals.
[self-released]
Broken up for years now and all but forgotten in the overcrowded scene today, Deteriorate was and still is one of the foremost black/death metal bands from N. America. Their intensity and brutality is still unmatched today. This demo, their first, contains the following tracks 'Agonized Display,' 'Shadows of Death,' 'Decomposed Anatomy' and 'Beyond the Grave.' Plus it contains 1993 recordings placed on the cassette by a band member.
[self-released]
Their third release and second demo after a CD release on JL America records, this demo features a new singer, equally proficient as the last. It contains the songs, 'Religious Fatum,' 'Ode to a Mortal,' 'Daeva Come...,' 'Gather the Nebbish,' 'Evaporated Battle Ground' and 'Devoured* (*Taken from the Rotting in Hell CD on JL America, this is a new version featuring the new vocalist).' The first five songs were later released by Pulverizer Records on the CD entitled 'The Senectuous Entrance.'
[Metal Blade]
Released in 1985 by Metal Blade Records, this six song LP contains the following live and studio tracks; 'Black Magic,' 'Die by the Sword' and 'Show no Mercy.' These tracks were recorded live in New York City on their 1984 Haunting North America Tour. And lastly the final three track are taken from the EP 'Haunting the Chapel' and the LP 'Show no Mercy.' The songs are: 'Captor of Sin,' 'Haunting the Chapel' and 'The Final Command.'
