The Insane

I walked inside my brain
With my memories and sat with the insane.

I shared a laugh with friends long dead
We spoke of conversations unsaid,
and the various bloodstains and wreckage inside my head.

Yes we laughed and we cried,
Within those dark walls sanity had long died.

We watched the images of violence and pain,
A temporal madness of one otherwise perfectly insane.

Through the fires and the billowing smoke,
We tore out our eyes until I awoke.

I crawled outside my brain.
With my life and sat with the insane.

I shared my hatred with friends I wished dead
Most of our lies remained unsaid,
of the various tragedies and ills outside my head.

Yes we fought and some of us cried,
Within those bright walls sanity had long died.

We watched the images of violence and pain,
A permanent madness of a world gone entirely insane.

Through the fires and the billowing smoke,
We tore out our eyes until I awoke.
