[Below: This scarce postcard is for a stamp exhibition which ran from June 20-22, 1936. It says: 'Joyful reception of the exhibition guests in Düsseldorf'.]

[Below: The postcard uses the image of an official postage stamp.]

[Below: Reverse. The cancel here is scarce, since it was a local event.]

[Below: Cancel close-up.]

[Below: Here is a rare set of postcards from Strength Through Joy, for a Volk fest running from August 13-15, 1938, in a place called 'Damm'. Damm is a central district of Aschaffenburg in Lower Franconia, Bavaria, located on the right bank of the Main River. Like many rare items, the universe seems to follow Murphy's Law and therefore if something is rare it is often found damaged in some way. It's strange, but it is often the case.]

[Below: This postcard has a pre-paid airmail stamp, unlike the one above, which the user added their postage stamp.]

[Below: This postcard says: 'Founding Conference of the European Youth Association - Vienna 1942', postmarked September 21, 1942. The postmark says: 'Munich - Capital of the Movement'. The reverse is blank.]

[Below: This postcard is advertising a 1935 postage stamp show.]

[Below: This postcard is advertising 'Deutsche Lufthansa' (German Airlines).]

[Below: Reverse.]

[Below: This postcard is advertising a Munich postage stamp show. It is postmarked September 8, 1935. The cancel says 'Air raid protection is a national duty. Become a member of the Reich Air Raid Protection League'. The reverse is blank.]

[Below: This postcard is one of my faves! Wow, this is so cool and is pretty scarce. It says 'liberated homeland - October 10, 1938'.]

[Below: Reverse. An amazingly cool cancel with incredible detail. This postcard was released to benefit the NSV (Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt, or The National Socialist People's Welfare), a social welfare organization. This says: 'Schönhengstgau Großdeutschland auf ewig vereint' (Schönhengstgau: Forever United with Greater Germany), this was part of the Sudetenland and was postmarked on November 30, 1938.]

[Below: Close-up of the incredible cancel.]

[Below: This postcard honors Martin Luther on his 450 year birthday. It was sent to a 'die Kantorei' (the Choir), postmarked February 1, 1934.]

[Below: Reverse. This gentleman sending this postcard basically says that he ordered 400 copies of the parish song sheet "Abide with us, Lord Jesus Christ", but he never received them, and wants them sent asap. He says he talked to Mr. Cantor Struwe on the telephone... hmm... word is he is still waiting for those 400 song sheets. My Struwe needs to get to work instead of looking at porn on his phone!]

[Below: This postcard says 'Our Military Exhibition'.]

[Below: Reverse. A neat cancel from 1943. On the left it says 'To commemorate your visit to the exhibition 'Our Military'.]

[Below: Close-up.]

[Below: This postcard says 'Haustöchter Au A. Inn'. This took me a moment to realize 'Au' is the actual name of a locale. Strange! 'Au am Inn is a village and former monastery located in Upper Bavaria', 'A. Inn' standing for 'on the Inn (river).' This is a postcard in rememberance of a school class, with the students' signatures.]

[Below: Reverse.]

[Below: This postcard says 'Young Flyer'. These sort of projects were very popular for young boys and teens in Germany in the 1930s. Familiarity with these gliders would later help them enter the NSFK (Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps, or National Socialist Flyers Corps).]

[Below: Reverse.]

[Below: This postcard is of the Breslau airport, something I've never seen a picture of (I have a love of Breslau due to their staunch and fearless defense during the communist invasion of Germany). It looks like it must have been quite beautiful.]

[Below: Reverse. This says: 'Picturesque Breslau (No. 12) - Airport: Icarus Hall in the Reception Building - The artistic sensibilities of the time find eloquent expression in the buildings of the Third Reich, even in Breslau. Functionality and restrained ornamentation form structures and interiors of simple beauty.']

[Below: This postcard says 'In memory of the Fiedler House of the NSDAP Gau Homestead Office - AD.1936 - Design: Vaurat - Hennig, Döbeln - at the Horticultural Exhibition - Dresden 1936 - presented by the Reich Guild Association of Sculptors and Stonemasons, Berlin NW 7, House of German Crafts - with the request that a stone house sign with monogram and year be placed on every new house, on every new settlement site, as on this beautiful model house. The local sculptors' and stonemasons' guilds will gladly provide suitable craftsmen at any time. A symbol, a monogram, the year, or the family crest on every new house. - On behalf of: Paul Otto, Master Stone Sculptor, District Guild Master of Saxony of the Sculptors' and Stonemasons' Trade'.
Very interesting, I wonder if this was ever done and do any of these remain?]

[Below: Reverse.]

[Below: This postcard says 'Heroes' Memorial Day'. Note that the bottom text is a sticker to hide the original text (this was obviously repurposed).]

[Below: Reverse. Postmarked March 15, 1942.]

[Below: This postcard says 'Seegeltung Weltgeltung - Aufklärungsaktion für den Gedanken der Deutschen Seegeltung' (Maritime Prominence, Global Prominence — An Awareness Campaign for the Concept of German Maritime Prominence).]

[Below: Close-up. Postmarked May 15, 1941.]
