Werner Mölders was a top German Luftwaffe ace pilot. He was a wing commander and the leading German fighter ace in the Spanish Civil War. Even more spectacularly, he was the first pilot in aviation history to shoot down 100 enemy aircraft. As fate would have it, he was never beaten in all of his dangerous battles, but instead died as a passenger after a plane crash.
