• Here is a look into an agent of a seldomly seen department in the Third Reich - the RSHA, or Reich Security Main Office. The organization's stated duty was to fight all enemies of the Reich, inside and outside the borders of Germany. The following telegrams are to detective Georg Mody on his engagement to Ida Vosgerau in August 1941.

The celebration took place in Oldenburg in Holstein in the local hotel 'Stadt Frankfurt', whose owners were Anna and Karl Mody [parents?]. Those who congratulated him, among others, included the Gaufilmstelle [the regional film distribution office] manager for Mecklenburg Hückstadt, Dr. Otting from Rostock, Dr. Georg Kniff from Rostock, Hans and Helga Hörnsen from Oldenburg, Friedel and Erich Hanka from Berlin, Esser from Kiel, senior school director Hormann, Erich Jessen, Hilda Jäschke, Ulla Milzner, Ida Landmesser and Wedekind from Oldenburg.

Georg Mody was employed with RSHA throughout the National Socialist era and found work with the secret police some years after the war [1955].
